Item Description
Product Description If you crossed Fallout 4, Fawlty Towers, Elden Ring and Quatermass you might just end up with Atomfall. Set five years after a nuclear disaster in the Lake District, Atomfall is a free roaming romp through the post apocalyptic English countryside in mid-century Britain. It is, as that description suggests, a strange business. While the premise sounds very Fallout, in practice it feels more Elden Ring. It's perpetually sunny in Atomfall's Lake District, making for one of the least dreary post apocalyptic landscapes you'll ever come across, with lush green mountains and woodlands, pockmarked by quaint English villages that have, admittedly, seen better days. The game does little to hold your hand, forcing you to pay close attention to the environment and whatever scraps of information the locals dish out. You'll roam the countryside, piecing all this together as you gather resources and run across oddball characters and references to British sci-fi and horror such as Day of the Triffids and The Wicker Man. You'll encounter gangs of outlaws patrolling the hills, and you can fight them or dodge them as you see fit. The real violence occurs when you head into one of the game's underground areas, though. But at no point will getting into a scrap be easy - you're very much an everyman thrown into a difficult situation, and every encounter requires careful assessment and an iron-hard set of nerves.
